«I will fight until my last breath to achieve perfection without ever succeeding»: so Čajkovskij wrote in 1891 about his last symphony, the Sixth, who closes the evening's program. The opening is the third version of Leonore overture by Beethoven, with Ravel's La Valse in the middle.
