The Association ‘Amici del Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino’ (Friends of the Theatre of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino) was founded in 1987 and has been present in the theatre and the city with an intense program of activities. These have included meetings with the conductors and artists in the city’s palaces and clubs, presentations of the theatre’s season programs, presentations of new publications, organized trips to Italian theaters and important music festivals, ‘musical conversations’ held by volunteer members presenting the program offerings of the Theatre and concerts in the Boboli Gardens during the summer season. The ‘Friends’ publish the magazine “Arion” distributed free of charge to audience members of the theater at inaugural events. The Friends are members of the Italian Confederation of Associations and Foundations of Opera and Symphonic Music and the Fedora European Federation of Associations and Foundations that support opera companies.
