Frankenstein

Or Love is blind

A monstrous task, an abnormal musical creature with the heart of Rossini, a Mozart mind, Puccini nails, Verdi shoulders, Bellini kidneys and a Donizetti stomach. One eye from Kurt Weil, the other from Arrigo Boito. Baroque pimples. Montiverdi scars. Stravinsky stitching and copious Wagner body hair. An opera which, just like the monster created by the famous Doctor in Mary Shelly’s novel, sews quotations from the entire history of melodrama onto the skeleton of original music. Guaranteed fun.
