The Nutcracker

Stanislav Kochanovsky

A childhood fable for celebrating Christmas at the Opera of Florence. Inspired by the story by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann and transformed by the music of Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij into one of the world's most famous and beloved ballets, it tells the tender  story of Clara and her adored Nutcracker, the little wooden soldier presented to her by the mysterious Mr. Drosselmeyer.  A precious toy that during Christmas Eve leads the girl into the magical kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy, where after a battle against the Mouse King, the toy soldier is transformed into a prince ready to dance with Clara in the enchanting Waltz of the Flowers.
