Season 2014/2015
Concert

Zubin Mehta / Anoushka Shankar

Čajkovskij Symphony No.6 which opens the evening is the last of the great composer, who conducted his first performance on October 16, 1893, nine days before his death. A composition which "has created some confusion" among the public, as he noted in his diary, due to an unusual "adagio" ending, where strings dissolves in a pianissimo rather than having a grand finale. To complete the program there is the Concert no. 2 of Ravi Shankar, the greatest sitar player of the twentieth century, performed by his daughter Anoushka.
