Just as in Vienna at the end of the eighteenth century, Mozart and Salieri return to face each other in the programme of the Opera di Firenze with two of their great masterpieces: The magic flute and The school of jealousy. Concluding the Casa Martelli Thursdays, a concert which will see the execution, for the first time in Italy, of the Cantata “Per la ricuperata salute di Ofelia” K 477a, composed by the trio of Mozart, Salieri and Alessandro Cornetti in 1785 from the words of the court poet Lorenzo Da Ponte: a work which was recently rediscovered in Prague and which shines new light on the relationship between the two famous rivals.
