The concert begins with the prelude of Chovanščinaby Modest Musorgsky, also known by the title Sunrise on Moskova given to him by Rimsky Korsakov, which closes the evening with his symphonic suite Shéhérazade, the best known among his works. Between these two compositions takes place the the Concerto for Cello and orchestra by Edward Elgar composed in 1918.
