Ludwig van Beethoven
Concert n. 5 in E-flat major op. 73 Emperor for piano and orchestra
He was born in 1946 in Leitmeritz in Czechoslovakia and studied piano with Bruno Seidlhofer at the Universität für Music and Performing Arts Wien. In 1966, after a tour through North and South America, is awarded at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Meticulous scholar of sources, has an important collection of autograph scores, first editions and original documents. More than one hundred records, including the complete piano works of Haydn awarded the Grand Prix du Disque, witness the breadth of his repertoire, which features many works of the twentieth century. He is the first artist ever to be invited "in residence with" the Staatskapelle Dresden from 2007, the year of its foundation, and he is the artistic director of the Festival Grafenegg.
