While in Wien preparing the debut of the opera Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was commissioned a serenade for the award of a peerage to Sigmund Haffner, the son of the mayor of Salzburg. From this work, completed in a few hectic days in July 1782, a few months later was born the euphoric Symphony no. 35. Alongside a rare and previous masterpiece of the brilliant Austrian composer, the scene music for Thamos, König in Ägypten, a drama by Tobias Philipp von Gebler, the program offers the Symphony no. 1 of Hans Werner Henze, founder in 1976 of the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte di Montepulciano of which now Roland Böer is the Artistic and Musical Director.
