The first ever performance of the Concerto azzurro by Stefano Bollani with the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino conducted by Kristjan Järvi is an important event in the panorama of contemporary music. The score, prepared by Paolo Silvestri, provides for a fair amount of improvisation from the piano. A choice for freedom, as blue as the sky.
