Chamber musicians of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
An evening dedicated to chamber music of the mid-twentieth century: the evening starts with the string sextet from Capriccio by Richard Strauss, composed in 1942, to end with with the Metamorphosen by the same author, written between March and April 1945, in the desolation of air raids on Germany. In the middle, the concerto for clarinet, strings and harp by Aaron Copland, written in 1947 on commission by the swing clarinetist Benny Goodman.
