Among the musicians in Vienna that were close to Beethoven in the early nineteenth century there are Ferdinand Ries, his student and secretary, and the pianist Johann Nepomuk Hummel. In the splendid ballroom of Casa Martelli students of the Conservatory "Cherubini" will perform some great pages of the repertoire for strings and piano by these composers.
