Both Richard Strauss' The Bourgeois Gentleman and the Pulcinella of Igor 'Stravinsky were created to accompany dance. The work of Strauss was born as a comédie-ballet inspired by Molière divided into several parts, then re-written as orchestral suite from the concert, while Pulcinella is a committee of Sergei Diaghilev on musical themes by Giovan Battista Pergolesi for a ballet avec chant.

Born in Turin in 1970 he studied violin at the conservatory of his hometown, graduating with honors special mention. In 1994 he was chosen by Claudio Abbado as concertmaster of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra three years later was among the founders of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, _ becoming vice-president. Artistic director for the chamber music of the Académie Européenne de Musique Festival of Aix-en-Provence from 2003 to 2006, when he was appointed music director of the Musical Afternoons of Milan. He was on the podium of important institutions such as La Fenice Theatre, where he directed the trilogy the Da Ponte / Mozart, Konzerthaus Berlin, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. Chief conductor of the Kammerakademie of Potsdam in 2010, he records for Sony four symphonies of Franz Schubert.
