International announcement of selection for Opera singers
Young Artists Program 2018/2019
The Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino announces open the enrolment for admission of Opera singers to the Young Artists Program 2018-19.
The objective of the course is the high-level professional specialization of the opera singer, the completion of the training process and support for the beginning and consolidation of the career. The objective is pursued through intensive work experience activities and highly qualified training programs, having as their aim the improvement of musical, stylistic and interpretive skills, as well as the expansion of cultural knowledge necessary for practicing the profession.
The advanced vocational training course will run from November 2018 through June 2019, with a possible extension for activities of work experience up to October 2019.
The young singers will have the opportunity to study with well-known artists and professionals of the field, and will be allowed to follow daily the different phases of opera production at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Foundation and the partner opera-symphonic institutions may offer the singers artistic contracts, for roles in operas and concerts in their season billboards.
The enrolment and the attendance to the course are free.
The young artists admitted to the Young Artists Program will be awarded a scholarship equal to Euro 1,000.00 gross per month (from November 2018 to June 2019).
The Coordination of the Academy is entrusted to Gianni Tangucci, in cooperation with the Artistic Direction of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Foundation.
Admission is reserved for candidates with significant musical abilities, a predisposition to the profession and a solid theoretical and technical base.
Age limit: born on or after January 1, 1985
Selection dates: The preliminary phase is based on the assessment of a Curriculum Vitae and two video recordings. The next phases consist in live auditions, which will take place at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino on the following dates:
– Semifinal: July 18-19-20, 2018
– Final: July 21, 2018
Enrolment deadline: by June 7, 2018 23:59, Italian time.
Fee for participation in the selection: The enrollment to the selection is subject to payment of a fee the amount of which is determined according to the date on which the enrollment is made, as specified below:
